Foam melting machine, also known as a foam densifier or foam recycling machine, is a piece of foam recycling equipment used to recycle foam materials such as expanded polystyrene (EPS), commonly known as Styrofoam. This EPS hot melting recycling machine helps reduce the volume of foam waste by melting it down into a more compact form, making it easier to handle and transport.
The Advantages of EPS Hot Melting Machine
- We can equip with a conveyor belt according to customer’s demand, which is convenient for customers to transport the foam raw material.
- The EPS hot melting machine has both crushing and melting functions. This can save costs for customers.
- Wide range of applications. A foam melting machine can crush and melt many kinds of foam materials, such as EPS, EPP, EPX, XPS, PUR, and EVA.
- The high density of finished products. This can effectively reduce the volume of foam.
- The polystyrene melting machine occupies a small floor space. The smallest foam melting machine has dimensions of 1500x800x1450mm.
Technical Parameters of Foam Melting Machine

SL-1000: The largest of the three, it offers a capacity of 200-250 kg/h. It measures 1900x1580x900 mm and also has an inlet power of 3 kw. The feed port size is 1000×700 mm.
How Does Shuliy Foam Melting Machine Work?
Shuliy styrofoam densifier operates through an efficient process, combining crushing and melting functionalities to handle EPS and EPE foam waste. This foam melting equipment is designed with a robust crushing mechanism that precisely breaks down large foam blocks into smaller fragments, facilitating the subsequent melting process.
The interior components, including specialized screws and heating elements, work synergistically to gradually melt the foam remnants, transforming them into cohesive, elongated masses.
In our company, we also have a professional EPS foam crushing machine for you to choose from.
What Is the Melting Temperature of EPS Foam?
The melting temperature of EPS (expanded polystyrene) foam typically ranges between 180°C to 200°C (356°F to 392°F). However, it’s essential to note that the exact melting point can vary slightly depending on the specific composition and density of the EPS foam.
When exposed to temperatures above its melting point, EPS foam softens and eventually melts into a denser liquid form. This property is often utilized in the recycling process of EPS foam, where it can be melted down and reformed into new products or materials.
What Is Melted Styrofoam Used For?
Commonly, the reprocessed material finds utilization in the manufacturing of recycled plastic products, thereby contributing to sustainable production practices.
The transformed Styrofoam can be molded into diverse forms, such as ingots or blocks, facilitating its seamless integration into the production cycle of diverse industries.
Furthermore, the versatility of the repurposed material enables its use in the creation of insulation materials, packaging products, and other innovative solutions, aligning with eco-friendly and resource-efficient initiatives.
